Digital Recess

When we were kids, playtime was built into the day. There was a start, a stop, and someone else rang the bell. As adults, that structure disappeared and now we just scroll until our brains feel fried.

We’ve tried every app out there to block Instagram or email, but the truth is they’re too easy to override. What actually works is a bigger barrier. If we had to physically go get something to unlock our phones, we wouldn’t. And that’s exactly what keeps us off them.

That’s why we’re bringing Bloom into the club. It lets you schedule when you’re “allowed” to use your phone, and the only way to unlock it is with a physical object. It’s the grown-up version of structured playtime: boundaries you set for yourself that actually stick. For the record, this isn’t a paid promotion, we’re sharing it because we use it every day and love the impact it’s had. Learn more at bloom.inc.

Here’s why we love it:

  • It creates friction. If it’s harder to scroll, you won’t.

  • It adds intention. You decide when your phone fits into your day.

  • It keeps the fun. Instead of deleting socials, you get to keep them with guidelines.

With everything being online these days, it’s unrealistic to throw your phone in the garbage (however many times you here that you should). Bloom gives your brain the same structure you had as a kid: time to play, and time to put it away.

Bloom cards are now available for purchase at the club!!
